Meet The Team

EPS is a nimble group of talented, fun-to-work-with marketers who love a challenge.

CEO and Founder

Rick Jaffe

You can tell by the way Rick engages with the eps team, and our clients, that he began his career as a teacher and coach. “You can't succeed without first understanding what motivates people,” he says. The other secret to Rick's success on behalf of eps clients? Embracing change. "Evolution is constant - we must continuously explore new and better ways of achieving our clients' goals to ensure their success and ours," he says. In addition to his passion for communications Rick is a dog lover who also enjoys spoiling his grandchildren.
Vice President, Production & Creative Services

Colleen Riley

Rick hired Colleen fresh out of college in the summer of 1992. She began her career working in the back-end of the studio, developing film and creating 4-color proofs. She also shadowed some of the most talented graphic designers in the city at a time when desktop publishing was still relatively new. Rick has always been a strong proponent of education, enthusiastically supporting any classes, seminars, or webinars our team wished to pursue. eps has always prided itself on staying at the forefront of this ever-changing industry.
Having been with eps intermittently for over three decades, Colleen has worked in nearly every department, from answering phones and maintaining equipment to attending sales calls and assisting as a photo assistant. However, her favorite role is formatting and page production. She enjoys taking an art director's vision and transforming it into a ready-to-use template, guiding the final piece to completion.
Colleen is very grateful for the opportunities she has been given at eps. She loves her job and her small-but-mighty team, and she couldn't imagine working anywhere else.
Vice President, Production & Creative Services

Jim Malvarosa

With over 30 years in media production and a passion for technology, Jim is a true veteran of the industry. He's also a talented photographer and videographer who brings to the team a wealth of expertise and a constant drive to innovate. His career began in the tactile world of dot etching, a skill that laid the foundation for his deep understanding of color and process. This hands-on experience gave him a unique perspective when technology revolutionized the industry. As an early adopter of Photoshop, Jim fully immersed himself in the digital shift and quickly mastered HTML and other new tools and workflows. This proactive approach to technology propelled him to a leadership role as manager of the Color department for one of Boston's largest prepress companies. Today, Jim loves working with clients to bring their marketing campaigns to life.
Production Artist

Brie Cartier

Brie first came to eps Communications after many years working in retail settings, where she was well versed in visual merchandising, display and content creation, as well as business operations, management, and customer service. She learned the importance of how to tell a story within her brand, from original concept to design and creative execution. When transitioning from the more physical roles in merchandising and display to take on a role as a digital production artist at eps, she was immersed in new and ever-evolving graphic technology, learning a brand-new skillset that required production design on screen. eps allowed her the tools to navigate design software and produce marketing materials for both print and digital platforms.

As a Production Artist at eps, her responsibilities include daily virtual communication with clients to produce a variety of print and digital materials, including catalog, brochure, poster, and logo designs. As part of the eps team, Brie must also keep in constant communication with her co-workers throughout their remote workday to ensure smooth workflow and quality production efforts.

Brie’s work at eps has allowed her to develop a strong skillset using the most up-to-date design software and the opportunity to put her creative arts background to use in projects such as web, logo, and layout designs. She has gained diligent time management abilities as a remote worker and has been able to continue building strong relationships with her clients through daily communication and customer service.

Creative Director

Leo Rice

Since starting at eps in 2013, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with great colleagues and clients, all of whom have been committed to creating work that gets results. When I began my career, this used to be known as “direct response” advertising. Today, it’s more commonly referred to as data-driven marketing or evidence-based marketing, or even insight-driven marketing. No matter what you call it, at the end of the day it’s simply work that works. One of the aspects I have enjoyed most about working at eps is the company culture. Rick encourages out of the box thinking, is open to differing opinions, and as a father of six himself, recognizes the need to give employees some flexibility in their work hours. This goes a long way when clients need eps to work late nights or weekends. In my role as Head of Account Service, the eps team’s willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve the desired results is something I appreciate as much as our clients do.
Accounting Manager

Renee Jacavanco

Renee brings more than 30 years of accounting experience to her role at eps including bookkeeping, tax preparation, financial auditing and payroll. Her extensive experience with Quickbooks has streamlined many of eps’ business functions since she joined the company in 2021. When Renee is not busy whipping up financial statements or reviewing balance sheets she enjoys gardening, exercising and traveling. Re4nee also shares her time and talent participating in women’s groups and serving as Treasurer on the boards of several non-profits. Renee is a proud alumnae of Salem State University where she studied Accounting and Finance.
